SMFCSD Enrollment Meeting at FCES October 22 at 6PM

San Mateo Foster City School District's Next Steps Advisory committee in partnership with the Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center has organized discussions to gather ideas and feedback regarding the increasing student enrollments and its impact on both San Mateo and Foster City. Our District is increasing enrollment of about 250 students per year which impacts student access to classroom space, playgrounds libraries, lunch areas and computer labs. 

We are all invited to:
  • attend a SCHOOL FORUM
    • held throughout the district from 10/14-10/30
    • go to

    • sign up for a forum OR
    • 6 will be held throughout the district from 10/15-11/7: Foster City Elem is Oct. 22nd 6pm

Change the Way Your Child Views School and Learning - November 12th, 7-8PM in the MPR

A presentation by Dr. Devin Prouty

Learn how to talk with your child about learning and intelligence in ways that can help him/her achieve and feel positive about the learning process.  Clinical psychologist and popular Bay Area speaker Dr. Devin Prouty references the groundbreaking work of Stanford researcher Dr. Carol Dweck to teach us how to speak to children about learning, talent, intelligence, and failure in ways that will help them become lifelong lovers of learning.


Wednesday, November 12th, 7:00 – 8:00 pm in the MPR

Free Admission & Free Refreshments starting at 6:30 pm 

PTA Members may also join the PTA Board for a brief update and budget addendum vote starting at 6:30 pm in the MPR

For attending parents: Child Care and Pizza for All Toilet-Trained Children in the FCS Library.


A BIG Thank You!!!   ...To the students, parents, teachers & staff who helped make Falcon Drive 2014 a success!  The PTA is excited to announce that we met our goal and raised over $150,000 this year!  We also had over 90% participation in nearly all classrooms, and look forward to rewarding the students with their ice cream party very soon!

The FCES PTA is always interested in constructive feedback from its members, so be sure to JOIN THE PTA! Future General Meetings are held in February, April and June – when budgeting for the following year begins.
